GO WEST: Eastern states FIFO workers encouraged to relocate to WA
The Chamber of Minerals and Energy is getting behind the State Government’s push to encourage eastern-states based fly in fly out workers to relocate to WA.
Between five and six thousand workers have shifted west while WA’s border remains closed to the eastern states.
The Government is hoping to entice them to stay permanently – confirming a $20,000 housing grant will be available to workers who build a new home here.
CME Chief Executive Paul Everingham told Gareth Parker on Mornings employers are also putting incentives on the table.
