Luck has not run out for one of Kalgoorlie’s $63 million Powerball syndicate winners.

Local travel agent Deborah discovered she actually had two shares in the massive payout when she went to City News Kalgoorlie on Friday morning, instantly doubling her winnings to more than $500,000.

6PR reporter Mitch Turner, whose mum was one of the 250 syndicate winners, flew to Kalgoorlie to celebrate with his family and told Gareth Parker the good fortune was continuing in the Goldfields town this morning.

“I was in the newsagent just then when she walked in, she checked another ticket – she forgot she had two shares,” he told Breakfast listeners.

“She’s just found out she’s won half a million dollars.”

He said the travel agent win was particular sweet as her business had suffered dramatically during the pandemic.

The other half of the $127 million jackpot belonged to an unclaimed ticket in NSW.

The ‘Rumour File’ was earlier told one member of the Kalgoorlie syndicate is a WA football identity.
