Granny flat laws relaxed in effort to boost housing supply
Planning Minister John Carey has announced the relaxation of rules around granny flats as another example of the “Cook Government removing red tape”.
Previously only landowners with blocks larger than 350 square metres could apply to build ancillary dwellings.
The changes would potentially allow many more homeowners to build and maintain granny flats.
Australian Tiny House Association’s WA State Lead Sue Daley told Julie-anne Sprague onĀ 6PR Afternoons it’s a decision that would hopefully make a huge difference to the housing market.
