Golden Globe-winning actor Guy Pearce has created a social media storm over his comments on non-trans actors playing trans characters in television and movies.

“A question — if the only people allowed to play trans characters r trans folk, then r we also suggesting the only people trans folk can play r trans characters?” Mr Pearce tweeted on Monday.

Entertainment reporter Peter Ford told Millsy and Karl on 6PR Breakfast the actor’s recent social media activity is uncharacteristic.
