‘Historic moment’: Queen’s crown-topped coffin leaves Buckingham Palace
The body of the late Queen left Buckingham Palace, her home for the past eight decades, for the final time before lying in state at Westminster, where hundreds of thousands of mourners began paying their respects over the next four days.
Thousands of people are expected to file past the late Queen’s coffin, with the first member viewings at midnight WST.
Earlier, the Queen’s coffin was lifted onto a gun carriage, while King Charles walked behind with his siblings and children in a solemn moment.
Nine reporter Clinton Maynard, in London, told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast it was a “historic” moment 👇
