A 49-year-old woman accused of driving off after hitting a 12-year-old girl in Willeton has had her hearing adjourned to apply for Legal Aid funding.

Tahira Shaheen allegedly drove through a pedestrian crossing along Pinetree Gully Road in June and struck the young girl before fleeing.

Police say Ms Shaheen has never held a drivers license in WA.
