Magpie swooping season has started early in Australia, with 238 magpie attacks and 26 injuries recorded so far this year according to Magpie Alert.

Sean Dooley National Public Affairs Manager at BirdLife Australia spoke with Oliver Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live and said the swooping season is definitely here,

“It’s the time of year when they breed and they can nest at any time. Some birds start building nests as early as late July and start laying.”
