‘I took the action I felt I needed to’: WA Liberal leader Libby Mettam on sacking of Steve Thomas

WA Liberal leader Libby Mettam dismissed Steve Thomas after it was revealed he sought assistance from disgraced former Labor Premier Brian Burke to arrange a meeting.
Ms Mettam joined Oliver Peterson on Perth Live to discuss the decision behind Steve Thomas’ dismissal.
“It was a difficult day today, but it was important for me to put a line in the sand. Obviously, the events of yesterday were disappointing for myself and my team,” Ms Mettam said.
“I took the action that I felt that I needed to, which was to ask him [Steve Thomas] to resign, in relation to that matter, from his leadership positions as well as his shadow portfolio decisions.”
