The oft-maligned reforms to the Aboriginal Heritage Act will now revert back more than 40 years to their original reading to allow the Cook Government the chance to go back to the drawing board.

Liberal parliamentary members including veteran Shadow Minister at large Peter Collier, who lambasted the State Government’s “contempt” for both them and the WA public.

Nine News and 6PR reporter Michael Genovese told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings as expected, there was little sympathy for Roger Cook and his cabinet.

“The lead-up to this has been so long and many [of the farmers] have had sleepless nights; while it seems they’re making progress, I know there’s many in this crowd who won’t be happy with whatever Roger Cook says at this point,” Mr Genovese said.
