Is being vegan genetic? New research separates the meat from the chaff

From the Impossible Burger to the tofurkey, going meatless has become a fixed part of the zeitgeist in recent years.
Yet new research has revealed there may be more to veganism and vegetarianism than simply making a choice.
Northwestern University Professor Emeritus of Pathology Nabeel R Yaseen told Millsy and KarlĀ 6PR Breakfast we might be predisposed to sticking to an either meat-based or vegetarian diet based on genetics.
“There are several genes that may play a role in what we eat, and it could be a stronger driver than we think,” Professor Yaseen said.
