The news – and footage – of the plane carrying Yevgeny Prigozhin falling to the earth in a ball of flames has, at least, ended the tense relationship between the Wagner Group leader and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Putin himself has become the prime suspect in the explosion, having been embarrassed by Prigozhin’s actions and infamous for allegedly taking out rivals historically. But is this really the end?

International Relations Senior Lecturer at Flinders University Doctor Jessica Genauer told Gary Adshead onĀ 6PR Mornings clear information about what has happened will probably not be forthcoming.

I think it’s something that will only become more clear as we see the way in which maybe the relationships evolve between different actors over time, but not something that we’re going to have a definitive answer about any time soon,” Dr Genauer said.
