Is the Premier ‘Good News Roger’? Cook’s priorities questioned

Article image for Is the Premier ‘Good News Roger’? Cook’s priorities questioned

As pressure mounts against various government ministers over issues such as the alleged rape at PCH, Gary Adshead has raised a pertinent question: is Roger Cook avoiding bad news?

Adshead said the Premier is becoming “the butt of jokes” because of his apparent distancing from big issues, earning himself the moniker “Good News Roger”.

Opposition leader Libby Mettam told Adshead on 6PR MorningsĀ she believes it’s clear the Premier is trying to separate himself fromĀ  headlines such as the damning allegations of rape in Perth hospitals.

“We need a Premier that will front up, and it speaks volumes that Roger Cook thought it was important to be at Perth Zoo this morning instead,” Ms Mettam said.
