Gareth Parker on Mornings has heard multiples stories from 6PR listeners today about puppies fetching prices of up to $8000 around Perth.

Dr Kate Lindsay from Dr Kate’s Kalmpets says the prices being asked for puppies in Perth at the comment is ‘extraordinary’ and is down to a range of reasons.

She says COVID restrictions meant puppies couldn’t be imported into WA which mean supply was only coming frm WA breeders and more and more people had wanted a furry friend during the lockdown period.
