‘A disgusting rip off’: Supermarkets not passing on drop in meat prices
Consumers are paying three times more than they should be when purchasing lamb from major supermarkets, says Geraldton beef, sheep and cattle farmer Craig Walker.
Mr Walker joined Oliver Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live and said he’s seeing large disparities between wholesale market prices and what’s being passed on to the consumer.
“They make a one point $4 billion profit, which actually sticks right in my neck because it’s on the back of the consumer paying too much,” he said.
