‘It’s really needed and really timely’: Homelessness sector set to receive funding boost
The state government has today announced a pre-budget promise that it will provide a $92.2 million funding boost for over 120 homelessness services.
CEO of Shelter WA Kath Snell told Oliver Peterson on Perth Live that the shelter sees 5000 people a day, which has been an increase of 27 per cent over the last five years.
“Absolutely, over the moon, we are thrilled with this announcement.”
“This is exactly what we asked for. The government has listened and has responded and this is what WA needs at this point,” Ms Snell said.
