Jack Redden – WCE’s new inside midfielder
West Coast strengthened their midfield stocks in this year’s trade period by recruiting Brisbane midfielder Jack Redden to the club via their first round draft pick at last week’s AFL Draft.
And they’ve filling that inside midfield role with Redden.
‘Adam Simpson has been really great and I’m probably going to put on a few kilo’s on next year so i can be that inside mid so I’m aiming to do that’. Redden said.
The 24 year old played 129 games in 7 seasons with Brisbane before shocking the club and requesting a trade to West Coast at the end of the 2015 season.
‘I felt like my football over the last few years was becoming stale and i needed a change’.
‘I was really impressed by the way West Coast have gone about it over the last couple of years and purely a footy decision and i felt like it was a good fit there at the club’ Redden admitted.
‘It’s obviously going to be hard to earn a spot in their best 22 and it’s good experience for me and it’s going to be hard to get in the 22 but I’m looking forward to the challenge’.
