Australian boxing legend Jeff Fenech never thought his controversial draw with Ghanaian fighter Azumah Nelson in Las Vegas would retrospectively be awarded to him.

After having the belt robbed from him by dodgy judges in 1991, Fenech was handed his fourth world title at a special ceremony in Mexico. Fenech told Gareth Parker on 6PR Breakfast he never thought boxing officials would overturn the decision.

“No I didn’t, because it has never happened before. It’s a first, and it’s a credit to the WBC in their integrity, it takes a risk to do something like that,” he told Parker.
