Joondalup Health Campus is about to release the findings of independent reviews concerning two patients who believe they did not receive appropriate medical care.

Baby Amir was stillborn, and his mother was dissatisfied with certain aspects of the treatment she received in hospital. Sandipan Dhar’s parents claim that despite their pleas, the hospital failed to conduct blood tests that could have diagnosed his leukemia.

Suresh Rajan, the patient advocate spoke to 6PR’s Gary Adshead about why the families feel the report has overlooked the needs of the patients.

“That external reviewer has not been in touch with the family whatsoever; all they’ve done is look at the clinical aspects of it,” he said.

6PR Perth Live host Oliver Peterson got a complete overview of the report from Nine News journalist Connor McGovern
