Kimberley’s flood crisis worsens
The North West has been inundated with rain, and much of the area has flooded.
The Fitzroy River has risen to one of the highest levels in history, causing major flooding.
President Shire of Derby and West Kimberly Geoff Haerewa told 6PR Breakfast this is a once-in-a-generation event.
“We’ve been in these situations before but not to the extent the river has risen this time,” said Mr Haerewa.
“We’re in uncharted waters.”
