The incoming president of the Police Union, Dave Flaherty, believes WA judges have been too soft on police assaults.

6PR Breakfast hosts discussed the matter with seasoned lawyer Tom Percy KC, who suggests that there are no soft judges in WA and that mandatory sentencing doesn’t reduce the number of offences.

“There is no linear relationship between making sentences harder and crime coming down,” he said
