Labor reacts to ‘desperate’ budget from the federal government
Labor says the federal government’s budget is a “desperate” attempt to get re-elected.
Shadow treasurer Jim Chalmers told Nine Radio his party wouldn’t stand in the way of anything that gave Australians cost of living relief, but it was only being offered by the government in the hope of getting re-elected.
“The difference between the parties is that we have a long-term plan to get the economy growing – the right way – and the government has just a plan to get them to the election,” Mr Chalmers said.
