Labor set to pass key housing legislation after deal with Greens
The Federal Government and the Greens have struck a deal to pass key housing legislation through parliament.
Greens leader Adam Bandt who previously vowed to sink the housing bill has agreed to back the fund after they secured an extra $1 billion for public and community housing.
Better Renting Executive Director Joel Dingam told Oliver Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live the deal is great news for renters.

Mr Dingham said Better Renting had been calling for limits on rent increases and supported a variety of models to reduce the pressure on renters.
“While more supply is going to make a big difference having a higher vacancy rate we do also need to give renters the security of knowing that they’re not going to be staring down the barrel of a 10 per cent rental increase,” Mr Dingam said.
