Labor’s promise of more urgent care clinics could come at a cost

Labor has made an election promise to roll out more urgent care clinics, despite the clinics costing five times more than a standard GP consult.

Dr Ramya Raman from the Royal Australian College of GPs explained to Perth Live host Russell Collett the problem with Labor’s plan:
“Urgent care clinics are an expensive model of care which could be better and more efficiently delivered through the existing general practices,” she said.
