Latitude Financial are refusing to pay a ransom to the hackers who still have the information of 14 million Australian consumers.

The business says it has no guarantee that paying the ransom will actually result in a return of the stolen data.

Tech commentator Glen Quattromani told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings Latitude have likely asked for evidence the alleged hackers have the data.

“You could quietly pay the ransom and hope that they’re actually being honest and that they’ve got some level of integrity, which you don’t know,” Mr Quattromani said.
