Peter Bol’s lawyer, Paul Green, has said there has to be ‘some kind of explanation’ for Bol’s positive test results for performance-enhancing drugs.

The 800-metre national record holder strongly proclaimed his innocence, stating he has “never in my life purchased, researched, possessed, administered or used synthetic EPO.”

“He convinced me that he never took it, so there’s got to be some kind of explanation here which we are going to figure out,” Mr Green said.

“The more information we get, we will get experts to look at it – It’s not a perfect test so where it goes from here, we are preparing for a long battle.”
