The process behind ordering WA school leavers’ wristbands is set to change following criticism from last year of kids having to wait for hours in line.

Last year listeners contacted 6PR, saying that the hour-long waits were slowed down by the leavers’ vaccination information not being uploaded.

Divisional Superintendent Dom Wood for the Community Engagement Division told 6PR Breakfast presenter, Gareth Parker that the change would take place from this weekend.

“We have known for the last few years that those queues were causing concern,” he said.

“The big change for this year is that we have a third collection point,

“From Sunday at midday, the kids can now purchase their wristband online.”

Leavers can register online with their WA student ID and purchase before the event.
