The Federal Parliament are launching an inquiry led by Liberal Senator Dean Smith into Perth Mint to investigate if they complied with money laundering and terror laws.

Mr Smith says he took the opportunity during the senates estimates process last month to raise questions about the progress of the AUSTRAC inquiry into Perth mint.

“I came to the conclusion that the matter had far from ended – it does deserve scrutiny,” he told Gary Adshead.
