Libs pledge to can Labor’s ‘backwards’ anti-nuclear policy
The Federal Shadow Minister for Climate Change and Energy has returned from researching nuclear power technologies in London, saying Labor’s anti-nuclear mandate is leaving the country in the past.
Member for Fairfax Ted O’Brien told Gary Adshead on 6pr Mornings Australia will have to take an “all of the above approach” when considering next-generation nuclear energy.
“At the end of the day if we’re fair-dinkum in Australia about trying to reach net zero, we will not get there unless we have zero-emissions nuclear energy,” Ted O’Brien said.
The WA Labor Party opposes using nuclear energy, as they claim to recognise the problems, hazards, and dangers of nuclear power.
