The chairman of an organisation that operates WA’s replica Leeuwin training ship has labelled the damage of the boat a “confronting sight”.

The training ship was crushed by a container vessel at Fremantle Port early Friday morning and Leeuwin Ocean Adventure Foundation chairman Jay Weatherill told 6PR Mornings Gary Adshead the future use of the ship would be postponed. 

“Our foundation will rally around the Leeuwin to make sure first we support the people that have been injured and all the people that have been upset and affected,” Mr Weatherill.
