During his usual Friday visit to the 6PR studios, Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas vented his fury at whoever had apparently destroyed every single newly-planted tree in front of the Roe Street Redevelopment.

Mr Zempilas told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings tree planting programs are not cheap, and are actions supported by federal and state governments, as well as taxpayers.

“Every single tree – one hundred of them – destroyed,” Mr Zempilas said.

“What’s wrong with people in our community that they decide to walk down Roe Street at whatever time of night and rip them all up?”

“That’s all of our money; we’re all impacted by it.”
