Despite suffering a nasty ankle injury during round six Eagles captain Luke Shuey is happy with the progress of his recovery.

Shuey clarified the decision to continue playing during the team’s clash with Port Adelaide, saying it was solely his decision.

The skipper told Adam Papalia on WWOS he wouldn’t change his decision to continue playing.

“I can assure you… none of the medicos were consulted, Simo wasn’t consulted… if anyone’s to blame it’s myself, said Shuey.

“It’s ticking along alright Paps, we’re back running and hopefully not too far away from playing… and hopefully set the body up for a big second half of the year.”
