The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission is receiving an ever-increasing number of reports of websites purporting to represent high-quality brands which are allegedly peddling knock-offs.

Brands including Peter Alexander, R.M Williams and Gorman and is reportedly affecting the national retail industry more and more.

Press PLAY to hear more about the sophisticated scams

ACCC Deputy Chair Catriona Lowe told Julie-anne Sprague on 6PR Afternoons the scammers use sophisticated technology to mimic real retail sites.

“So we’re seeing reports of the use of stolen logos, stolen Australian business numbers similar designs, and even domain names,” Ms Lowe said.
