Man charged with murder after disappearance of Pemberton father
Homicide detectives have charged a 64-year-old man with murder, after the disappearance of a father of three.
40-year-old Tony Ditri hasn’t been seen since leaving a house on Guppy Street in Pemberton on Friday.
Police say he’d driven to a local rubbish tip at about 3pm and the alert was raised when he failed to show up to a party in Manjimup that night.
Police and SES volunteers spent the weekend searching for him, and found his truck abandoned about 15 kilometres from the town.
Nine News reporter Michael Stamp said his death will have a massive impact on the local community.
“Tony Ditri, he is a very popular and well liked, much loved man here in Pemberton,” he told Gareth Parker.
“It’s obviously a very small town, very tight knit so Pemberton is very shaken about this.”
The 64-year-old Pemberton man is due to appear in Bunbury Magistrates Court today.
