From today, the state’s mandatory vaccine requirements will come into force for a slew of industries in the group 1 category.

Those include residential and non-residential community care services, remaining members of the police force, fire and emergency services, corrective services and workers in abattoirs and meat processing.

Workers in this group must have had at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine by today, and be fully vaccinated by December 31.

FIFO and other resources sector workers are also now under a vaccine mandate.

Mandates are already in place for those in high-risk settings including some health care workers, those that work in hotel quarantine facilities and port employees.

Around 75 per cent of the Western Australia workforce will eventually be subject to vaccine mandates.
