The West Coast Eagles have cruised past the Gold Coast and sit second on the AFL ladder with a dominant display of football, defeating the Suns 21.13.139 to 9.5.59.

Returning superstar forward Josh Kennedy booted five goals on return from an injured leg (and now only needs one more goal to equal Peter Sumich’s 514 goal record at the club), while Elliot Yeo amassed 33 possessions in an impressive performance. Jamie Cripps chipped in with 4 goals and Jack Darling booted 2.

David Swallow was honorable for the Suns, gathering 29 possessions and kicking one major.

“WHERE’S THE GATORADE?!”

Hear how the game played out…

200-gamer, Mark LeCras, told 6PR Josh Kennedy was pushing to play alongside Lecca for his milestone game.
“It was great to have the big fella back, he’s been itching to get out there the first couple of games and been training really well. I think he put his hand up pretty early to come back for the 200th, which was good of him,” LeCras told us after the Eagles big win.

“We pride ourselves on contested ball, tackling, the way we move the ball and they beat us in all of them,” Brayden Fiorini told 6PR after the Suns 80-point loss.

“I was really pleased and proud of our energy we brought, obviously the milestones for our boys as well as much as it’s about the four points, it’s good to have wins for those types of players,” Adam Simpson told the media after the game.

“I think we need to be honest about the performance. What was infectious in the first two rounds was infectious in the wrong way today,” Gold Coast coach Stuart Dew told the media after the loss.
