The sudden departure of Alan Joyce as CEO of Qantas has been spurred by questionable political tactics, according to the Federal Liberal Party.

Opposition Transport Spokesperson Bridget McKenzie told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings the Liberals would stick by a plan to open an inquiry into the issues plaguing Australian air travel.

Press PLAY to hear more on the opposition’s plans to take the Government to task over Qantas

On every substantive issue [the Government has] been ducking and weaving,” Ms McKenzie said.

“I don’t think Alan Joyce’s departure is going to make anything easier, as prices remain high and cancellations keep happening.”
