‘Mechanic turned medic’ claims to be on the cusp of asbestosis cure

Changing careers is common enough, but switching form mechanic to pioneering biomedical researcher is a hard task for any.
Bio-Latem Technologies founder Jason Ravasini managed it, and is now one of the leading researchers in Australia trying to find a remedy for mesothelioma and asbestosis, diseases which have had a profound affect on Australia.
“I knew from a very young age it was a very dangerous thing,” Mr Ravasini said.
“It’s everywhere in the automotive trade, in the brakes clutches and that sort of thing; it’s not something I ever thought I would be on the research side of.”
