Milestone Cats celebrate with a win
Gary Ablett and Joel Selwood celebrate their milestone games with a 37-point win for Geelong over the in-form Gold Coast Suns.
It was a tight contest for most of the game but an early shoulder injury to promising Sun Matt Rowell put the Gold Coast on the back foot.
The Cats pushed on with Ablett kicking a fourth-quarter goal in his 350th game to seal the 13.11 (89) to 8.4 (52) win.
Sam Day and Ben King kicked multiple goals for the Suns to put their team in front in the third quarter, but the Cats hit back kicking four straight goals and taking control of the game.
Jack Steven kicked his first goal for his new club and lead the team to their first consecutive win for the season.
It was a great way for the Cats to celebrate the two massive milestones with Ablett’s 350th AFL game and Joel Selwood’s 300th AFL game with all played with the Cats.
