The WA Government has announced new changes to the failing Banksia Hill prison including more guards and an increased focus on Aboriginal engagement.

Corrective Services Minister Paul Papalia joined Oly Peterson on 6PR’s Perth Live.

“What we announced today was a plan to make the Juvenile detention facilities safe, and to enable us to deliver safe and better rehabilitation and outcomes for juveniles in both of those facilities,” Minister Papalia said.

Oliver was also joined by Juvenile Justice Expert at Curtin’s Law School Dr Stephen Monterosso to provide an analysis of the latest changes.
