Nicotine patches in exams: how students are coping with vape addiction
Students are wearing nicotine patches during their final exams because they’re addicted to vapes, alarming new research led by the Cancer Council has found.
The Generation Vape study found more than two-thirds of 14 to 17-year-olds had used a vape containing nicotine.
Cancer Council Tobacco Issues Committee Chair Alecia Brooks told Julie-anne Sprague on 6PR Afternoons there has been no slowing down of young people being targeted by vape advertising.
“They’re seeing it on their social media in terms of trends; that, along with how easy they are to buy, is telling young people that this is a safe product,” Ms Brooks said.
