‘Nightmare issues’: Peak apartment body pleads for protection from construction chaos
The peak body representing the interest of apartment and unit owners is calling on the State Government to take action to protect thousands of apartment owners from shocking building practices.
The Australian Apartment Advocacy says there are alarming issues that need addressing urgently.
Australian Apartment Advocacy spokesperson Samantha Reece told Liam Bartlett on 6PR Mornings that problems such as balustrades breaking and basements leaking have led to the callout.
“We’re talking about repair builds of $900,000,” she said.
“When you have bought an apartment and moved in, you would have paid $750,000 or $800,000,
“The last thing you’re expecting is an additional bill on top of that.”
