Nine News sports reporter and frequent 6PR guest Paddy Sweeney is hitting the road – and keeping the “butt cream” handy – for a very important cause.

He’s taking part in Ronald McDonald House Charity’s 2023 WA Ride for Sick Kids, a four-day bike ride in the South West aimed at  raising funds for WA families with sick or injured children.

Mr Sweeney began the ride in the Wheatbelt town of Williams, and told Gary Adshead on 6PR Mornings he’s so far made it to Darkan, population 403.

“We’re expecting perfect riding conditions, but if I could be a bit ungrateful I’d say the wind could drop off just a bit,” Mr Sweeney said.
