Despite attempts from industry and government to stem the flow of AI-coupled scams targeting the public, cybersecurity experts are warning the future continues to look grim.

Cyber Security Expert and Scantek founder Ches Rafferty told Russell Collett on Perth Live while well-known crimes such as romance scams remain an unfortunate facet of modern life, newer targets like property companies are becoming dangerously vulnerable.

“Everyone’s been pretty aware with things like ChatGPT how sophisticated these things can get when it comes to writing emails and that sort of thing; that trend is only going to continue as the technology becomes more robust,” Mr Rafferty said.
