Australia’s chief veterinary officer has confirmed a small number of sheep onboard the MV Bahija have died.

Around 15,000 sheep and cattle have remained on the live export vessel for more than a month, with at least seven days hitting temperatures over 40 degrees.

Nine News and 6PR reporter Emma Griffiths told Gary Adshead on 6PR MorningsĀ there hasn’t been too much information form government, despite the harrowing conditions on-board.

“These animals have already sat through a heatwave, and now they’re going to go through the same thing again,” Ms Griffiths said.
