North Perth petrol station proposal shut down by health report
Recently the locals of North Perth launched a campaign to oppose the Town of Vincent’s application to develop a new petrol station on their beloved Angove street coffee strip.
Associate Professor Hessom Razavi has now compiled a health report warning of the risk of benzene to human health based on the proposed fuel station.
The consultant ophthalmologist told Oly that it is too close to the social area.
“There’s so much evidence from around the world showing that the closer you live to a petrol station, the higher the risk of leukaemia,” he said.
“I don’t see how anyone would want or allow this sort of development.”
