Libby Mettam has refused to be pressed on Basil Zempilas’ potential role in the party, despite some claims he could be pipped for the next  WA Liberal leader despite not even being elected at this time.

Gary Adshead put the question to Ms Mettam on 6PR Mornings, and received a fairly blunt response from the State Liberal leader.

“I’m not going to commentate on those things,” Ms Mettam said.

“There is renewed interest in the party; I certainly welcome Basil as one of many high-quality potential candidates who have expressed interest.”

Ms Mettam also denied rumours the Liberal’s cabinet will be reshuffled.
