The Australian Nursing Federation has lashed the State Government for informing the daily newspaper of an Enterprise Bargaining Agreement offer before sending it to the union.

ANF Chief Executive Mark Olson explained to Liam Bartlett that the government’s pay offer hasn’t changed, but the EBA includes in-principle support for nurse-to-patient ratios.

Olson told 6PR Mornings that members are furious they found out about the updated deal through the media.

“The government did that so they could get a front page story saying they’re offering ratios… and they’re not,” he said.

“What the government is offering is over the next three years, they will look at nurse-to-patient ratios,

“They’re not going to enforce it. They’re not going to make it mandatory. They’re not going to make it tranparent.”
