St John has released new figures showing ambulance ramping was down to 5,537 hours in October, compared to over 6000 hours  in September.

The government pays approximately $300 an hour per ambulance, costing not only patients’ lives but millions in taxpayer dollars.

Shadow Health Minister Libby Mettam told 6PR Mornings host Liam Bartlett this has been the worst year on record for ambulance ramping.

“It is the worst October on record… it is also the worst year on record for ambulance ramping,” said Ms Mettam.

“We have a government that are not making health a priorty.” she said.
