A earnest online argument has been sparked by the newest edition to Bradley Cooper’s filmic canon – specifically over his nose.

Cooper wrote and directed Maestro, the upcoming film detailing the career of legendary composer Leonard Bernstein. Cooper plays the main character, replete with prosthetics and make-up designed to increase the resemblance.

University of Melbourne Political Science Professor Lauren Rosewarne told Gary Adshead it’s a touchy subject, especially in an environment where every aspect of characterisation is analysed.

“We’ve become more culturally sensitive to those issues, so I think as much as I could argue both sides of that coin, that’s a little bit predictable,” Dr Rosewarne said.
