One dead in Lockridge house fire
A man in his 50s has died in a house fire in Lockridge.
Police and Department of Fire and Emergency Services were called at around 7.15pm yesterday to attend a house fire on Brathwaite Road in Lockridge.
When emergency services arrived, they discovered the man was trapped inside the home. He could not be saved.
The son of the trapped man was able to escape the fire with no injuries.
6PR Nine News reporter Olivia Donaldson told Gareth Parker it appears the fire started in the front bedroom.
“The power lines also caught fire,” she said.
The cause of the fire is not believed to be suspicious and detectives from the WA Police Arson Squad will prepare a report for the Coroner.
